The verdict, as reported by The Daytona Beach News-Journal and CBS affiliate WKMG-TV, mandates that the 50-year-old Sytch must also navigate eight years of probation upon her eventual release in connection with the harrowing incident. The former wrestler had pleaded no contest on August 26 to charges of DUI manslaughter, four counts of DUI with damage to a person, and two counts of DUI with damage to property.
The tragic saga unfolded in May 2022, a mere four months after Tammy Sytch release from an eight-month prison term for a prior DUI offense. Prosecutors, viewing her as a “danger to society” due to repeated transgressions, sought the maximum penalty of 26 years in prison.
Tammy Sytch troubled history with the law stretches back to 2019 when she faced her sixth DUI charge, leading to an arrest for drunk driving while driving down the wrong way of a one-way street with a suspended license, resulting in her previous eight-month incarceration.
On Monday, Tammy Sytch was credited with 566 days for her sentence, according to WKMG. The fatal crash occurred on March 25, 2022, as Sytch, driving south on United States Highway 1, collided with a vehicle at a traffic light. Tammy Sytch, under the wrestling alias Sunny, ascended to fame as one of the pioneering WWE “Divas” and was enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 after departing from the company in the late 1990s. The recent verdict marks a stark and sorrowful chapter in the life of a once-glorified figure in the world of professional wrestling.
