After seven seasons of dedicated leadership, Adam Korzeniewski has resigned as the head coach of the Brother Rice football team. The school officially announced his departure in a press release on Tuesday morning, marking the end of an era for the Warriors.

During his tenure, Adam Korzeniewski steered the Warriors to a commendable 40-33 record, showcasing his coaching prowess. His impact was most notable in the team’s consistent success, with six playoff appearances and district championships in both 2021 and 2022. However, the fall of the past season presented challenges, resulting in the Warriors experiencing their first winless campaign since 1963.

With Adam Korzeniewski departure, the Brother Rice football team is set to welcome a new coach in 2024. The school’s decision to seek fresh leadership signals a new chapter for the Warriors as they aim to build on the successes of the past and overcome recent setbacks.

Continued Contribution at Brother Rice

Although stepping down from the head coaching role, Korzeniewski remains committed to Brother Rice. He will transition into the role of associate athletic director, ensuring his continued involvement with the school’s athletic programs.

In a statement, Brother Rice athletic director Jeff Calcaterra expressed gratitude for Coach K’s contributions, acknowledging his role in shaping the football program and providing students with impactful experiences. Calcaterra emphasized Korzeniewski’s outstanding character and leadership qualities that have left a lasting impression on the school community.

Before joining Brother Rice, Adam Korzeniewski served as the defensive coordinator at Birmingham Seaholm. His coaching journey includes three seasons as a defensive coordinator under the renowned Michigan Sports Hall of Fame coach Al Fracassa. Fracassa’s coaching legacy, spanning from 1969 to 2013, included an impressive 430 wins, nine state championships, and the development of over 300 players who went on to play college football.

Adam Korzeniewski, a product of Grosse Pointe North and a former linebacker at Western Michigan University in the 1990s, leaves a lasting legacy at Brother Rice, and his impact on the football program will be remembered as the school embarks on a new era with a fresh coaching perspective.
