SEC Unveils Texas Longhorns’ 2024 Football Schedule

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has officially released the 2024 football schedule for the Texas Longhorns. The upcoming season promises exciting matchups, marking the Longhorns’ entry into SEC play.

Season Opener: Texas kicks off the season on Aug. 31 by hosting Colorado State.

SEC Debut: The Longhorns begin their inaugural SEC season at home on Sept. 28 against Mississippi State.

Home Contests: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium will witness SEC clashes with Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.

Away Games: Texas will hit the road to face Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. Additionally, the Longhorns will be the designated visiting team against Oklahoma in Dallas.

SEC Journey Commences:

Mississippi State Clash: The SEC journey starts on Sept. 28 with a home game against Mississippi State. The historical series between the two teams has seen ups and downs, setting the stage for an exciting kickoff to SEC play.

Red River Rivalry: Texas faces Oklahoma on Oct. 12 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, marking the 120th game in series history. The Longhorns hold a historical advantage, and this clash promises to add another chapter to the intense rivalry.

Florida at Austin: Nov. 9 sees Florida visiting Austin. Texas holds a 2-0-1 advantage in the all-time series, with the most recent meeting in 1940.

Fayetteville Faceoff: The Longhorns head to Fayetteville, Ark., on Nov. 16 to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Despite a recent setback, Texas maintains an overall lead in the series.

Kentucky Clash: Kentucky comes to Austin on Nov. 23 for only the second meeting between the two teams, the first being in 1951.
