Janel Grant has filed a lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut, accusing the 78-year-old businessman of using her to lure wrestling talent into the organization.

The lawsuit, which names former head of talent relations John Laurinaitis among the defendants, alleges trafficking by McMahon and Laurinaitis, as well as civil battery, infliction of emotional distress by all parties, and negligence against WWE.

Grant’s lawyer, Ann Callis of Holland Law Firm, stated that the lawsuit aims to hold the executives and WWE accountable for their actions. Grant, described as an incredibly private and courageous person, hopes that her lawsuit will prevent other women from facing similar victimization.

According to the lawsuit, Grant was allegedly asked to provide services for a WWE superstar to ensure his continued involvement with the organization. When this did not occur, she reported the incident to McMahon, who allegedly responded in a physically rough manner.

The lawsuit further claims that WWE financially benefited from McMahon’s alleged actions, including having wrestling talent sign new contracts with the company after presenting Grant as a sexual commodity for their use.

Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that McMahon and Laurinaitis exerted control over Grant’s employment with WWE and pressured her to engage in sexual acts. McMahon is also accused of sending sexually explicit photographs and videos of Grant to WWE employees and a world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

In January 2022, McMahon allegedly instructed Grant to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) after his wife discovered their relationship. Grant claims she was threatened with legal consequences and reputational ruin if she did not comply with the NDA.

Grant’s lawyers have requested the court to invalidate her NDA.

McMahon, who co-founded WWE in 1980 and served on the board of directors until September 2023, currently serves as executive chairman of WWE’s parent company TKO Group Holdings, which also owns Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Laurinaitis left the company in 2022.

WWE and TKO Group have been contacted for a response regarding these serious allegations.
