FSU Football Faces Quarterback Uncertainty Ahead of ACC Championship
As FSU football gears up for the ACC Championship against the Louisville Cardinals, rumors are circulating regarding the status of quarterback Tate Rodemaker. The Seminoles, favored by 1.5 points with an over/under of 47.5, are already dealing with the absence of redshirt senior quarterback Jordan Travis, who suffered a season-ending injury against North Alabama.
In Travis’s absence, redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker stepped in, completing 12 of 23 passes for 134 yards in the Seminoles’ 24-15 victory over the Florida Gators. While Rodemaker faced challenges, he managed to settle down in the second half.
During a critical moment in the fourth quarter, with 3:45 left on the clock and facing a 3rd & 14 on their own 42-yard line, Rodemaker opted to run for the conversion. The play ended with a late slide to protect himself, drawing a 15-yard personal foul penalty with targeting against the Florida Gators. Rodemaker took some time to recover from the hit, necessitating true freshman Brock Glenn to briefly enter the game.
The Florida State coaching staff is known for its discretion regarding injuries, often not disclosing specific details. Given this, it remains uncertain whether Rodemaker is dealing with an injury following the hit. The situation adds an additional layer of complexity to an already challenging game for the Seminoles.
