Little Miami Schools Appoint Arryn Chenault as Head Football Coach
Pending approval from the Board of Education, Little Miami Schools proudly introduces Arryn Chenault as the 19th head football coach in the program’s 67-year history. Chenault, currently an assistant coach at ECC rival Winton Woods High School, emerged as the top candidate among 60 applicants for the position.
A Historic Journey Little Miami’s football
Since its inception in 1957, Little Miami‘s football program has woven a history marked by resilience. Joining the Fort Ancient Valley Conference in 1959, the Panthers secured five FAVC titles, with the 1992 team standing as the only one to enjoy a flawless 10-0 regular season. The program transitioned through the Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) from 2012 to 2019 and joined the Eastern Cincinnati Conference (ECC) in the fall of 2020.
A Resonating Character
Arryn Chenault’s selection was not only based on his coaching acumen but also on his remarkable character. Described as “other-centered” by LMHS principal Dr. Kevin Harleman, Chenault’s dedication to the sport and commitment to player development stood out during the interview process.
“Incredible character and an unwavering work ethic” were the traits that secured Chenault’s position, according to Dr. Harleman. The Little Miami community looks forward to the positive impact Chenault is expected to make on players both on and off the field.
Chenault’s journey is intertwined with a family narrative of resilience and generosity. In 2022, his uncle Darryn, a local football coach, faced kidney failure and sought a donor. Chenault, in an inspiring act, donated his kidney to his uncle on June 6, 2022. This selfless act resonated with Little Miami’s search committee and further emphasized Chenault’s commitment to others.
Arryn Chenault’s coaching career reflects a diverse and enriching trajectory. Beginning as the defensive backs coach at Walnut Hills High School in 2016, he progressed through roles at Sycamore High School, Norwood High School (as the Defensive Coordinator), Lakota East High School, and Winton Woods High School (as the Special Teams Coordinator).
Chenault’s roots as a scholar-athlete at Fairfield High School positioned him as a three-star recruit. His journey continued at the University of Cincinnati, where he played under head coaches Brian Kelly, Butch Jones, and Tommy Tuberville. Graduating in 2014, Chenault captained the team in the 2013 and 2014 seasons, showcasing his leadership qualities.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2014, Chenault pursued further studies, obtaining a Master of Education in Education with a Special Education license from Xavier University in 2019. With six years of experience as a special education teacher, Chenault is not only a dedicated coach but also a family man, married with two young children.
