Syracuse Football Recruiting: Anticipating a Weekend Deluge of Visits

As the Syracuse Orange gear up for the Boca Raton Bowl, Head Coach Fran Brown, at the helm, is rapidly constructing the 2024 roster.

Big-Time Transfer: Kyle McCord, Ohio State Quarterback

This weekend promises a dynamic mix of already committed players, undecided 2024 recruits, and noteworthy transfers, with the spotlight on Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord. Ranked 22nd in the On3 portal rankings, this Philadelphia native showcased his prowess with 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns for the Buckeyes in the past season. McCord, seeking a fresh start after the loss to Michigan, could be a significant addition for the Orange, addressing the void left by Garrett Shrader.

Defensive Powerhouse: Fadil Diggs from Texas A&M

Fadil Diggs, a defensive end from Texas A&M, adds to the excitement, making a stop at the Alabama Crimson Tide before heading to Syracuse. Hailing from Camden, NJ, Diggs holds the 30th spot in On3’s portal rankings. Joining him on this visit are his younger brother Fatim, an uncommitted linebacker, along with current commit corner Braheem Long, Florida defensive lineman Will Norman, and West Virginia linebacker James Heard, Jr.

Georgia Flair: Wide Receivers Mekhi Mews and Zeed Haynes

The recruitment weekend also boasts the presence of two Georgia wide receivers, Mekhi Mews and Zeed Haynes. Mews, with 13 receptions for the Bulldogs, served as a kickoff and punt returner. Adding to the mix is Buffalo transfer safety Devin Grant.

Completing the Class: Additional 2024 Recruits
