Jimmy Butler made quite the entrance on Media Day, instantly capturing the attention of the NBA world.
When the Miami Heat forward showed up for the team’s first official day of work this season, he sported eye, lip, and nose piercings, a fresh hairstyle, and black-painted fingernails.
This style shift seems to be a bit of a trend for Jimmy Butler, considering he made a statement at Media Day last year with dreadlocks, a notable deviation from his typical appearance.

“I’m very emotional right now. This is my emo state, and I like this. This is me,” Jimmy Butler remarked. “This is how I’m feeling as of late.”
It seems his teammates were taken by surprise. Heat center Bam Adebayo, who hadn’t seen Jimmy Butler before meeting with reporters, thought the photos shown to him were photoshopped.

“That is not real… That is (expletive) hilarious,” Adebayo exclaimed.
Whether Jimmy Butler will maintain this look when Miami starts practice on Tuesday remains uncertain. The team’s training camp will take place at Florida Atlantic University in nearby Boca Raton.
