Why Thunder Rosa Predicts Cody Rhodes Won’t Secure WWE Universal Championship This Year
After an unsuccessful bout against Roman Reigns during last year’s WWE WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes clinched his second consecutive Men’s Royal Rumble victory last weekend, solidifying his place at this year’s grand event. Despite a recent appearance alongside Seth Rollins on “WWE Raw,” there persists a belief among many fans that Rhodes will confront Reigns once more and emerge victorious this time around.

However, AEW luminary Thunder Rosa holds a contrary view. Speaking on a recent installment of “Busted Open Radio,” she articulated her skepticism regarding Rhodes’ chances of triumphing over Reigns this year.
“I personally doubt they’ll allow Cody Rhodes to dethrone Roman Reigns,” remarked Rosa. “I believe they aim to surpass Hulk Hogan’s tenure.”
Rosa perceives the company’s intention to establish Reigns as an indomitable champion reminiscent of the era when Bruno Sammartino held the title for extensive durations. While Rosa expresses a desire for Rhodes to conclude the narrative he embarked on, she also suggests that he could contribute to elevating the newly minted World Heavyweight Championship presently held by the sidelined Rollins.

“I perceive it as somewhat precarious for Cody Rhodes to opt for Roman,” Rosa continued. “Although it’s a coveted opportunity, a championship holds significant value. Cody has the potential to carve out his own legacy with this championship.”
“Busted Open” co-host and ex-WWE personality Tommy Dreamer echoed Rosa’s sentiments, sharing his conviction that neither Rhodes nor Reigns are inclined to suffer defeat at WWE WrestleMania 40. Dreamer rationalized that Rhodes has already bested Rollins on three occasions, thus indicating no hindrance for Rhodes to repeat his feat.
