WWE Ceases Production of DVDs and Blu-Rays

According to WrestlingDVDNetwork.com, WWE is set to discontinue the production of DVDs and Blu-Rays by the end of 2023. Initially, WWE appeared poised to end physical media production at the close of 2021, but a last-minute decision extended the Home Video division for an additional two years.

About WWE DVDs

Fremantle Media, the official licensee of WWE Home Video in the United Kingdom, recently announced the cessation of physical media production for the company. In a statement, they conveyed the news with regret, explaining that no licensing deals would be renewed worldwide after 2023. This decision signifies the end of a longstanding partnership, with the final WWE Home Video release from Fremantle being CROWN JEWEL 2023 (2-Disc DVD) on December 18 (UK) and December 22 (GER).

The announcement expressed gratitude to collectors and fans for their unwavering support over the 36 years during which WWE Home Video released content, with the last 11 years handled by Fremantle in Europe. The culmination of this era is set for December 31, 2023, as no further WWE DVDs or Blu-rays will be manufactured.

In the United States, the final WWE Home Video release will be Survivor Series 2023 on December 26. Notably, this means that CM Punk’s WWE return will not be available on physical media in the United Kingdom and Europe.
