Former WWE star Virgil, also known as Mike Jones, has faced significant health challenges in recent years, including strokes, dementia, and a diagnosis of colon cancer in April 2022. Now, Virgil, along with a friend, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to navigate the upcoming winter season, seeking support from the wrestling community and beyond.

The announcement of Virgil’s GoFundMe campaign was shared by the social media account for Paul Orndorff, shedding light on the difficult circumstances the former WWE star is currently facing.

Virgil’s Wrestling Journey

Virgil, originally known as Soul Train Jones in the mid-’80s, rose to prominence in WWE, where he became the bodyguard for “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. Their famous breakup in 1991 marked a turning point for Virgil as he defeated DiBiase for the Million Dollar Championship at SummerSlam that year. He later joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and reunited with DiBiase as members of the New World Order.
